Elizabeth Naomi Todd Swindle, 77 of Newton, MS, died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Newton, MS.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Newton County Funeral Home - South in Newton, MS with Dr. Brian Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Haliey Ritchie Cemetery in Gholson, MS. Newton County Funeral Home of Newton, MS is in charge of arrangements.
She loved to crochet, read, tend to her flower garden, especially her roses, listen and sing gospel music and collect porcelain dolls. She enjoyed spending time with her children, and providing for her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She was a caregiver, that's just being a "mother to all." She was a devout Christian mother, who always was selfless, telling the truth at all costs. She was a Pentecostal by faith. The last church that she attended was First Baptist Church in Newton as long as her health permitted.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Garnor Swindle, one son, Jack Eugene Swindle, three grandchildren, and her parents Preston Lee Todd and Viola Ester Mitts.
She is survived by her children, Catherine Elizabeth Swindle Jay of Newton, MS, Cecilla Easter Swindle Vickers of Silver Lake, IN, Jessie Garner Swindle Slone of Warsaw, IN, Floyd Alexander Swindle of Boonville, MS, Barbara A Swindle Wever of Booneville, MS, Wesley James Author Swindle of North Jutson, IN, Andrew Garner Swindle of Booneville, MS, Elizabeth Iion Swindle Stephens of Booneville, MS, Clayton Terry Swindle of Booneville, MS, twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and three on the way, two great-great grandchildren and one on the way, and one sister, Darlene Britches of Euphora, WA.
Pallbearers include Benjamin Stephens, Leroy Stephens, James Donald Wever, Chuck Street, Austin Tatum, Rodney Swindle, Randy Slone, Andrew Swindle, Colvin Swindle, Michael Cook, Jonathan Swindle, and John Streaker.
Visitation will be held at 1 P.M. at Newton County Funeral Home - South on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
